Dr. Janice Dinsmore Czechowsky holds a Doctor of Ministry in Counselling and Pastoral Care, Marriage and Family Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo Lutheran Seminary. Jan is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (AAMFT/OAMFT) and a certified addictions counsellor.
Jan is an adjunct faculty member at Emmanuel Bible College and has been a professor at Heritage College and Seminary (18 years) as well as Wilfrid Laurier University (2 years) teaching addictions courses as well as a variety of other counselling courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level. She has worked in both long-term and short-term residential programs for both men and women as well as providing addiction services for a variety of EAP programs (FGI, Shepell, Morneau Shepell, Ceridian, Aspiria, Homewood, PPC Canada and Optum Canada) for over 20 years. Her expertise in addictions has also come through a variety of workshops and courses through CAMH, Homewood, Grand River Hospital and London Health Sciences as well as a 3 year Clinical Internship with Cambridge Interfaith Family Counselling Centre with specific training on pharmacology built into this internship. Dr. Dinsmore Czechowsky’s doctoral dissertation was entitled “The impact of diagnostic labels” for both individuals with addictions as well as significant mental health issues.
