Jessica Cooksey has been a membership with the CACCF since 2002. She has earned her ICADC, CACC and CCCS and continues to maintain good standing. She received her graduate degree from Royal Roads University in Leadership with a specialization in Health and used the advanced knowledge and skills to advocate for better health strategies, and policies for people facing mental health and substance use challenges. She is actively engaged in the recovery community, is member of the British Columbia Recovery Council and is the Recovery Representative on the Provincial Opioid Addiction Treatment Support Program Committee. She is the CACCF representative on the Federation of Associations for Counselling Therapist in BC (www, factbc.org).
Jessica has over 20 years of experience in the field of addictions and mental health. She has been trained by Last Door Recovery Society (est. 1986) on the social model of treatment. Jessica has played an integral role in shaping Last Door Youth Program’s (est. 1996) residential youth treatment model and protocols.
She is currently the Operations Manager for the Last Door Recovery Society in the lower mainland of BC. She acts as the Accreditation lead and has helped Last Door Recovery Society substantially expand its services for men, youth and their families. Jessica specializes in working with youth, parents, and families.
Jessica shows real appreciation for the challenges and victories youth face during their recovery and is highly regarded by clients and colleagues.
