ABOUT US Recovery Acres is an alcohol and drug recovery facility located in a residential area of Calgary, Alberta. We opened a newly renovated women’s facility in the fall of 2016 that provides Intensive Outpatient Co-Occurring Treatment to women suffering from substance and mental health disorders. The program is based on total abstinence from all mood-altering substances, the 12-Step processes, and clinical psychological interventions. Recovery Acres is registered charity dedicated to providing effective substance addiction treatment programs that minimize disruption and cost to the individual, family, employer, and the community at large. Alcoholism and drug addictions have no boundaries. Clients come from all walks of life and sectors of society. Our recovery program benefits the community in real terms; saving families and careers, reducing pressures on social services, the welfare rolls, the homeless, as well as the judicial and medical systems. Recovery Acres has been the start of a new life for thousands of men since our doors first opened in 1973. VISION STATEMENT To provide exceptional Co-Occurring Treatment services to women, their families, and the community with the utmost integrity and excellence. We believe that Substance Use Disorders are Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual in nature and thus require treatment across multiple lines. Our position is to provide compassionate & respectful treatment to stabilized women who suffer from addiction and/or co-occurring concerns. Staff Psychoeducational Clinician: Co-Occurring Disorders Program Position Summary: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Staff Clinician functions as a member of the Co-Occurring Disorders interdisciplinary team. This position requires the treatment of adult female patients with moderate to severe substance and mental health disorders. This position requires case management, individual and group therapy in a variety of psychoeducational modalities including but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, supportive and maintenance therapies, psychoeducational approaches, and consultation with the external Clinical Psychologists and Physicians. Liaison with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, and assisting other team members as required. This is a Full-Time position and requires days and some evening scheduling. Key Responsibilities: • Facilitate the Women’s Intensive Out-patient Co-occurring Disorders Treatment Program • Conduct Intake Interviews to assess client suitability & stability • Provide individual and group psychoeducational counselling • Measure and track program outcomes • Assume co-occurring counseling duties for the women’s treatment program Required Qualifications: • Post-secondary education in the human services field • Experience in biopsychosocial assessment, counseling, and treatment planning • Comprehensive understanding of ethical practices • Demonstrated knowledge of research design, data collection, analysis, and reporting • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices for gender-specific treatment and rehabilitation of women with substance abuse & mental health issues • Experience working with female populations with addictions/mental health disorders, and histories of sexual abuse and/or trauma Preferred Qualifications: • Extensive understanding of the 12-step recovery models • Domestic violence and/or crisis intervention training • Registration with a professional regulatory body • Certification in addiction/co-occurring disorders (E.g.
