Rainbow Lodge Recovery Retreat Society is looking for a qualified facilitator to manage the in house program this summer.

Dates Required:
Wednesday through Sunday:

  • June 27 - July 1, 2018

  • August 15 - August 19, 2018
  • September 12 - September 16, 2018
  • September 19 - September 23, 2018
  • September 26 - September 30, 2018

Qualifications:

As the program has a residential component, the employee must liaise in a professional and constructive way with the team to ensure the guests receive coordinated and cohesive support.

  • If in recovery, a minimum of three years clean and sober
  • Group facilitation skills
  • Clear working knowledge of the 12 steps
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and with the team
  • A valid driver's license and vehicle
  • Ability to learn and facilitate the in-house program
  • Able to lead a meditation group

Experience:

  • CCAC certification: belonging to an association/for insurance purposes
  • A working knowledge of both Mindfulness Relapse Prevention and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy)
  • The following skills are preferred but not mandatory:
    • Additional training, certificates or diplomas in substance abuse treatment
    • University degrees
    • CPR training
    • First aid training
    • Naloxene training
    • Expressive arts therapy
    • Yoga experience

Position duties:

Liaise and coordinate with the team at Rainbow Lodge to provide a cohesive, high quality service. Provide support to guests and visitors in a respectful manner to ensure the group retreat is enjoyable. Provide a quality therapeutic component that will fit with each groups requirments.

  • Minimum 6 person group
  • Facilitate a scheduled group program
  • Coordinate the support required by guests
  • Work with the team to implement the guest program that will be carried out throughout each groups retreat
  • In coordination with the team, prepare the plan the groups, events, recreational outings and activites for groups at the retreat
  • Complying with all medical policies, including storage, dispensing and record keeping
  • Take the lead to ensure that house guidelines are followed daily - i.e. meeting attendance, chores, etc.
  • Be supportive, respectful, and empathic to all visitors/staff
  • Complete daily check list of duties for maintenance and organization, report all maintenance needed
  • Daily housekeeping chores and cleaning as needed
  • Assist the chef with the meal preparation as needed

Compensation:

  • $250 per day based on a five day work week (Wednesday to Sunday)
  • Travel expenses: gas and ferry costs
  • Your own private suite, with bathroom and shower
  • Compensation for learning, planning and organizing the in-house program before May 23, 2018
  • Spending the summer at a beautiful secluded lake
