Clinical Lead - iRecover Okanagan iRecover Treatment Centers offers addiction treatment across Canada from our facility in Coldstream, BC. to our Newfoundland facility located in Gross Morne National Park. iRecover’s flagship facility is located out of Tees, AB established in 2006, iRecover has seen thousands of participants and families make changes to their lives for the better! iRecover is currently looking for an energetic and dynamic individual to join our team as a Clinical Lead in our Coldstream, BC location. We will be accepting applications for this full-time position until a suitable candidate is found. The required shifts for this position are Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have a willingness to learn and be motivated to work together to accomplish our company’s mission of “changing the world, one family at a time”. Addictions counselors work with clients from diverse backgrounds who have various addiction disorders such as drug, alcohol and process addictions. Through psycho-education, individual and group therapy, addictions counselors work with affected individuals, using suitable intervention strategies and treatment approaches to counsel clients through all stages of recovery. Throughout this process, counselors continually review, assess and document their clients’ progress and follow up post-treatment. Before counseling, they evaluate client strengths, possible problems, extent of addictions and the client’s potential to change. Taking the client’s history into consideration they create research and experience-based treatment plans. Counselors will inform their clients about addiction issues and the programs and services available, as well as refer clients to other experts when necessary. Core Competencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Time management skills Patience and open-mindedness Strong altruistic and empathic ability Emotional maturity Professional boundaries Job Duties -Provide mental health and addiction counselling and support to individuals, families and groups associated with iRecover Treatment Centers. -Provide counselling regarding the use and effects of alcohol and drugs -Facilitate the iRecover Phase 3 program; specifically facilitating all CBT programming. -Prepare needs and risk assessments -Maintain a comprehensive understanding of crisis management and the impact of trauma on mental health and addiction issues -Maintain strict confidentiality guidelines regarding all clients, conversations and referrals -Utilize the paper or electronic system to document all client encounters in a timely manner -Coordinate and facilitate educational workshops on mental health and addiction related topics -Provide transition referrals post-treatment in their home community. -Assist individuals to identify their need for treatment programs -Assist clients to meet all requirements -Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment programs -Complete Admission and Discharge Criteria and Assessment Tools (ADAT) -Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment programs -Structured Relapse Prevention and/or Cognitive Behaviour ----Therapy -Room checks -Shift report -iRecover educational programming -1-1 counseling -Talking stick/group therapy -Liaise with counselors -Meetings -Contact/support for alumni -Engage in professional development -Prepare participants for CBT -SPOC for participant primary contact (1-2 max) – desk phones & email – make initial contact when participant enters treatment. -Liaise for medallions, AA/NA supplies, letters to self, stationary supplies, art supplies -Liaise with night staff for workbooks / issues to be aware of -After Care -Possible travel to other iRecover locations to train staff according to the iRecover program -Work as part of an interdisciplinary team using respect and common sense -Encourage a work environment free of bullying and harassment Job Requirements: -Experience working with people struggling with mental health and/or addiction problems - Registered BSW, MSW, Registered Phycologist, CCAC - Personal journey or experiences with the 12 steps considered an asset - Comprehensive knowledge of client centered mental health and addictions interventions, practice methods and professional skills - Knowledge of community resources, treatment centres, social service networks and organizations - Working knowledge of computer software (email, internet) and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook), and Electronic Management Record systems - Commitment to continuing personal and professional development.
