Suzie Le Brocq has been working in the field of addictions for approximately 15 years. Her career has afforded her the opportunity to work across three different continents including The Americas, Australia / Oceana and Europe. She is Licensed in England, America and Canada. Suzie has a lifelong passion for working with people. Suzie values every therapeutic experience that she engages in, & maintains a level of humour, honesty & integrity in her work. Training in both the UK (as a native Brit) & North America (USA / Canada), her career in the field of addiction, eating disorders & sex addiction has taken her to Europe, North America & the South Pacific. She has an extensive understanding of the treatment of addiction from a number of different treatment modalities & methodologies.
Suzie is currently undertaking a PhD (Doctoral Program) in Clinical Sexology (Clinical Sex Therapy).
Suzie currently practices in Canada as a Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling (Canadian Professional Counsellors Association). She also holds the titles of a Certified 'Sex Addiction Therapist Supervisor' (CSAT-S) & Certified 'Multiple Addiction Therapist Supervisor' (CMAT-S) through the International Institute of Trauma & Addiction (IITAP). Suzie is an Internationally Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counsellor (International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium), as well as a Canadian Certified Addiction Counsellor (C.C.A.C) through the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF). Trained (originally) in the UK. Suzie has undertaken extensive post graduate training in North America and is Licensed as an Alcohol & Drug Counsellor in the States of Hawaii & Oklahoma.
Since her career in the addiction’s field began she has taken on a number of Clinical Directorships in Western Samoa, Oklahoma, Hawaii, British Columbia and Alberta, Canada. These roles have included developing and managing clinical programs as well as clinical supervision and direct clinical care. Working within different countries has expanded her global knowledge base & provided her with exposure to many different & diverse populations, races, cultures & treatment philosophies.
From 2009 to 2017 Suzie focused on developing a private practice as well as clinical / management consultation & clinical supervision. In 2018 she stepped down as the Clinical Director of the Thorpe Recovery Centre in Lloydminster, Alberta to take on the position of National Director of Sex Addiction & Human Sexuality Programs for Homewood Health.
